About Kristie Cross
Kristie Cross lives in Baker, Louisiana and is a mother of four children, ages fifteen to twenty-four. Her husband of twenty-two years, Mike Cross, was a former Mayor of Baker and State Senator. He passed away after a brief battle with cancer in November 2013. Kristie has been homeschooling their children since 2001. She is also an attorney, having graduated with honors from LSU Law School in 1992. In addition to homeschooling two high schoolers, Kristie is honored to serve as the new CHEF of LA Legislative Liaison.
From 2000 to 2014 she worked in a governmental relations business founded by Mike. Their oldest son, Ryan, graduated from LSU in 2010 and works as a Political Consultant. He is engaged to be married to Addie Dean later this year. Lauren graduated from LSU last December and works for Apple. Christen will be attending LSU next year, leaving the youngest, Matthew to wait until 2018 to join in the family tradition of LSU attendance. Kristie is a Board Member and volunteers with the Central Community Theatre, a local musical theatre for children and young adults. From 2007-2010 she was the Assistant Administrator for the Baton Rouge Homeschool Speech & Debate Club. Kristie’s hobbies include reading, cooking, theatre, and playing with their two yellow Labrador retrievers.
