Discipline in the Home
Conflict arises when parents least expect it but it is a normal part of family life. Christian Discipline (Child training…not punishment) in the home is essential for healthy relationships and creating an atmosphere where God is honored and learning begins. Unfortunately, accomplishing that goal from the toddler years to the teenage years is difficult and confusing. In this fast-paced, how-to workshop, Roger and Jan will share practical ways of dealing with common areas of conflict from a Biblical perspective.
DR. ROGER AND JAN SMITH BIO
Dr. Roger Smith and Jan Smith currently serve in the role of President of Christian Home Educators Fellowship of Louisiana. Over the last 25 years, the Smiths have served in leadership roles in numerous organizations such as 4-H, Boy Scouts, Homeschool Speech and Debate, and the Chamber of Commerce. Both Roger and Jan teach and lead a weekly faith-based substance abuse program and at their church.
Choosing to homeschool their four children from the beginning of their educational years through the completion of high school, the Smiths believe that this made a huge impact in their family. The strong relationships they share with their adult children and their spouses accurately display the grace of God and the importance of healthy family relationships. Furthermore, the tight bonds that their children have for their siblings (even now as adults) is truly a blessing and that educating their children at home was integral in establishing a godly heritage.
